My best therapist whenever I am feeling less than optimal, is a simple pen and paper. "The ultimate truth process" guides me to the essence of the issue by a few simple questions.
Sondra Ray, one of the founders of the rebirthing movement in the 1970s together with Leonard Orr, helped me to discover this technique. I've been using it for over a year now, on and off. I say 'on and off' because of the following passage from Sondra Ray's book, Healing and Holiness:
Many times students who have already taken my spiritual healing class come to me and complain about some ailment they have had for a long time. I ask them, "Well, what did you get when you did the Ultimate Truth Process?" Then they confess to me that they did not do it!
I ask, "Why not?"
"Oh! I forgot," they say.
I was always so surprised at this answer at first. But now I understand how tricky the ego is. It distracts you from what works. You must train yourself to do the Truth Process as soon as you get the symptoms so they won't escalate. Of course, if you like to suffer or punish yourself you won't do the Process even if you do remember. Sometimes people "forget" because of a deep unconscious fear of going against the church that told them they must suffer: That distorts their thinking. In that case, the person needs to be helped by someone like me or someone else who is no longer trapped ln that dogma.
How to do the Ultimate Truth Process
First, identify the issue that you have and want to solve (for instance: I can't sell my house). Once you have identified this, write down the answers to the following questions:
A. The negative thoughts I have that are causing this condition are:
B. My payoffs for having this condition are:
C. My fears of giving up this condition are:
D. My most negative thought about my body is:
E. My most negative thought about myself is:
F. When this condition first began was:
G. What was going on at that time in my life was:
Now take a look at the answers and transform them into positive affirmations. If you ansered "I don't deserve it" on question A, you can transform this into "I deserve to be wealthy and happy".
The most important point to take into account when writing positive affirmations:
Next, place the affirmations somewhere in your the house, so you glimps at it from time to time. Say it in front of the mirror. Meditate on it, place it in your heart, until your unconscious starts accepting it.
Anthor interesting technique, is to record it on a cd and play that cd very softly when you are sleeping. Perhaps, add some nature sounds in the background. You subconscious will suck it up like a sponge.
So, now it's up to me to write down the affirmations of the thruth process I did earlier today! See you next time...
